In the interview process for ADP and 2nd round is Next Week. They stated that the base salary would be about $45k plus commission up to around $60-$65k for the first year. Role is Digital Sales Consultant "inside Sales" focusing on Inbound "Majors" or Mid-Market (50-999 Employees). Is this typical?

Yeah for ADP at least. They are very cheap when it comes to base and OTE. But we are regarded as one of the best orgs to be at for some reason. Ask what territory it is, because it’s all based on alignment. If your payroll partners are not good then expect ~55k range. It’s all about alignment here.

Their GES digital sales salaries were adjusted to $50-55k to get “closer” to the market about 12-18 months ago, however it’s still well below the standard. I’d see if you could get more but will warn you they have a pretty firm stance on not negotiating salaries. At least with current employees.

Entry level role and Base is lower than normal based on it being “inbound” and inside sales…

Even for an entry level role 
Outbound will be higher
Field sales will be higher

Doesn’t mean you will like it better.

It’s typical for entry level candidate. The base and OTE seems a low for a mid market role compared to the rest of the industry.

No. My salary for small biz 1-50 was 45k then got bumped to 50 when they realized they were paying below market. This was back in 2021-2022

Yes this is typical, I am in my 9th month in this role (mid market majors/digital sales) and that was my starting pay. I will exceed the OTE and likely hit 80k+ in my first year.

ADP commissions are honestly better than base so if you’re good at sales the lower base is worth it

Inside Sales pays a lot lower than outside sales.

For that role in Outside Sales, you would be looking at a base of of 88 to 97k, OTE 150

ADP is cheap when it comes to their inside sales department.
