If you’re in a new biz role you’ll struggle due to market fit: old legacy tech and expensive. Support has dropped in quality and every customer query becomes billable much to their annoyance. For a long time, Sales people were making good money from relying on the existing accounts - renewals, additional seats or usage and PS. Company has, overnight, switched the comp plan for those people so now both they and new biz sales will struggle.

Expectation is you already have experience selling. Additionally, they hire a lot of people from competitor companies, etc. so product and industry knowledge is somewhat also expected.
