How challenging is it to achieve sales targets as a newly onboarded AE at Fortra?

I disagree with the blanket comment about them purchasing dying products. Yes sometimes they will purchase a company with a good customer base and high retention but they also purchase products that fit into the cybersecurity arena and are working on integrations between these products.

Fortra has several business units - some do get few net new leads and you have to focus on customer expansion and referrals but others have a big marketing budget which drives net new opportunities via website and tradeshows. If you look for a job at Fortra, I would try to get into a position in the cyber security area if you want to work primarily on net new opportunities.

As for the original question, targets are challenging. I've seen about 35-40 percent of the reps on average in a business unit will hit their target.

The cyber security industry is challenging with a lot of competitors and product knowledge and sales experience will help in helping you achieve targets assigned to you. Targets are normally challenging but achievable. It is tougher for a new AE to hit their targets their first year as much of their time is learning and the sales process can be several months but normally you'll be provided a pipeline to start with.

VERY challenging. Fortra buys DYING products, that it can MILK for renewal $$$. And slashes marketing $$ which makes lead flow dry up to minimal levels.

Selling Net New licenses is extremely challenging in that environment.
