The good: Google is a company full of great opportunities to build a long term career and to build a varied career by moving between functions. Pay tends to be strong in the industry & in the sales org, targets are generally realistic and achievable. There is some very exciting tech coming out that will future proof Google for the next decade to come. The bad: Your experience at Google depends massively on the management you report into. I have been on 5 different teams; some have had the best management I have experienced in my career, others the worst. Internal mobility has slowed massively post-covid.

Pros: strong sales enablement structure, supportive leadership, transparent and fair culture, great work/life balance and benefits Cons: incredibly slow and tough promo cycles that require you to spend as much time and energy on talking about your work as you do actually doing the work
