Current Employee IBM is a great company to have on your resume, but is a mess to work at otherwise. As a Sales Engineer here, you're expected to also be a party planner and plan/throw client events even though there is a marketing team. You're also expected to get outbound leads and make cold calls/send emails, which is so unusual. Getting a promotion is very unlikely and they're constantly having layoffs. If you can, work here for 2 years so you can have IBM on your resume and look for something better. There is no job security here, and they're laying off thousands of employees and offshoring talent to other countries.
