LGI Homes only does the minimum to develop managers. They provide continuous training but they do not grow people. They don't teach managers what is required for the next step up the ladder. They believe all you need to know is in one book that is now 30 years old.

My time at LGI was interesting. The culture is very “with us or against us” mentality. There’s a HUGE focus on using the correct words vernacular to the point where people were shamed. The training and development I can genuinely say is absolutely incredible. The downside is we do not have a product worth its value and are trained to take advantage of the uneducated population and appraisals constantly coming back 40-50k under sales price (which makes it obvious that are product is significantly overpriced).
