My time at LGI was interesting. The culture is very “with us or against us” mentality. There’s a HUGE focus on using the correct words vernacular to the point where people were shamed. Training is very intense, but also very focused and intentional. Their sales method is a solutions based sales system and is very well put together and effective. Parts of the presentation felt “timeshare” and would put off buyers who did not fit the typical demographic. Some managers were more micromanaging than others. The inclusion of all employees on quarterly meetings, and earning calls was appreciated, as it felt like you were more than an employee since there was an intense focus on becoming a shareholder as well. While the 500+ “hot” leads comment was not fulfilled, there were non-traditional approaches that got the phones ringing. Issue is a lot of the calls/leads did not have any idea what they were calling in about. Overall, I’m grateful that I got to experience LGI - the people I had the pleasure of working with were all magnificent, and they’ve all moved on… but the lessons about sales and the exposure to new home sales helped propel my career.
