I was originally very excited to join Material Bank. I shortly came to realize the hiring process was full of smoke and mirrors. Zero direction, even less leadership, and a horrid "People Team". They do not value inclusion, collaboration, or their employees in general. The company has mass layoffs every 1-2 years and the blame it on everyone else rather than leadership taking responsibility. During the most recent layoffs, the CEO met with the remaining employees and basically shit all over the employees that were laid off. They blamed the former CEO, Sebastian Gunningham, for having to layoff over 1/3 of the workforce. Overall, I would avoid Material Bank like the plague. Terrible leadership, below average compensation, and an even worse HR team.

My overall experience was incredibly poor. Leadership creates and cultivates a toxic environment where team members are constantly throwing each other under the bus to try and deflect blame and satisfy the whims of an over-engaged and erratic founder.

My short experience here was a disaster. Was definitely not a sales job more customer service and leadership was just absolutely awful. Culture was also an issue
