Current Employee Success in the Commercial org is almost entirely dependent on territory. The KPIs around PG are absolutely laughable and do nothing but encourage fluff and vapor (minimum expectation is 5x coverage, you get a pat on the back for hitting “target” at 8x coverage - can’t imagine what kind of behavior that incentivizes!?)
Within actual deals, Nutanix has not been priced competitively, all levels/segments. Leadership finally now realizing this and panicking, implementing programs to compete with Broadcom.
The “portfolio” products they speak of are mediocre at best and have not gained traction in the market at all, almost entirely geared as upsell to existing customers. The bread & butter offering is still very strong, but expect to go into 99% of white space discussions with 1 tool in your bag.
All in: IMO, Nutanix royally messed up a golden oppty to take market share from Broadcom/VMW. The comment about leadership running around with scissors couldn’t be more accurate.
