You're better off starting your SDR role at another organization and moving to an AE role there. Currently, at Phreesia, there is a surplus of AEs, with nearly no opportunities opening up. I've seen top SDRs at our company leave for others because there is just no room for growth here, as was promised by management. Currently, they've made an Inside Sales Rep role since there's no room for SDRs to move up to AE. The ISR role is essentially a 6-month severance package, a horrible market fit with SDRs prospecting small 1-2 provider medical practices that simply don't need a solution like Phreesia due to the low volumes of patients they see daily.  Top-performing SDRs are fired within a few months of this role since no one can hit their targets. There are people who have been SDRs for 2 years with no sign of promotion. If being an AE is your next career goal, you have an extremely low chance of achieving that here, do yourself a favour and seek other companies.

Challenging.  If you're prepared to spend 8-10 hours per day on the phones, constantly reworking your pitch and working through objections from prospects who have said no 3,4,5 times to Phreesia, and you hit number consistently, you can expect to be promoted in 12-16 months.  This is the quickest I've seen top SDRs move up to AE.

Very. They hire large numbers of SDRs and thats makes the internal competition very competitive. You have to be consistently hitting your metrics as an SDR and may get promoted within 2 yrs. Its possible but It will be tough.
