RH has way too many partners , who Control their own discounts , and get huge massive discount based on the actual deal size not (PxQ) price times quantity or volume in a deal. You can have large contracts with many line items ie qty 5000 that’s getting 50% discount and you can have qty 10 in same contract and the partner pricing scale that will the smaller sku will also get 50%. It’s a ridiculous model. OEM’s, like Cisco and Dell that can resell certain product like open shift, can immediately get 58 to 65% off without approval from the field sales team or field sales leadership. This process is hidden , not transparent internally. The BU does it to hide deals from field sales and field sales leader so they don’t have to pay out commission ACV/ARR. It’s a bit of al dishonest. Also here your SW is tied to months long HW delays. Partners abuse the discounts for simply just passing paper and no other value. Expect 30% YoY quota increases to manage earning down. The RH comp team screws the whole sales force with hidden gates and changes during the year to not pay.
