My overall experience was a great work environment with quality people. Logistical sales really opened my eyes into what it means to run a business. Beginning from the raw materials and how they are shipped in if it’s a manufacturing industry, to the final product and all of those touch points in between.

This sales role is being overtaken by 3rd party shipping sites that can offer shippers competitive rates, integration and service. In my area there wasn’t a lot of opportunity unless they were lost to FedEx or USPS for a couple years and came back. Hitting plan isn’t terrible, but funding the pipeline can be difficult. Executive level decisions are baffling (or not) and focused only on short-term gains over long-term benefits. Two major layoffs in four years have gutted company culture and morale.
