Current Employee Quotas are based on territory bookings over a certain time, but a lot of us struggle to hit them because there simply isn’t enough need in our territories. You do everything you can—build relationships, follow up, nurture leads—but if you’re still under quota, you risk getting fired. Meanwhile, reps who happen to have ‘goldmine’ territories consistently hit their numbers and get rewarded for their ‘hard work,’ even though the playing field isn’t really the same. It creates a constant sense of job insecurity for anyone who isn’t fortunate enough to have a high-potential territory.
