I began at Yardi in 2020 earning $50,000 and, after five years, increased my base pay to $70,000 as of 2025. My role includes $5,000 MAXIMUM payout in total annually in commissions, with yearly sales I personally close ranging from $100,000 to $170,000. Despite being the top sales representative nationwide in 2024 amongst 32 agents in my business unit, securing even a modest raise was a challenge. After three years without an increase, I had to reject my 2024 sales letter to negotiate a $5,000 base raise, a decision that took upper management over 3 weeks to approve, and it wasn't the full 12% increase I requested. Yardi is an excellent place to develop foundational tech and sales skills, with a strong product and supportive environment. However, there is limited upward mobility into management, mid-market, or enterprise sales roles. Leadership, including CEO Anant Yardi, often note that employees in this position typically stay for 1-2 years before moving on to pursue higher pay or broader experience elsewhere. The greatest drawback is compensation, which tends to be below industry standards. That said, the tradeoff is exceptional work-life balance, flexible culture, and a laid-back environment rooted in Yardi’s Santa Barbara headquarters.
