Former Employee Zip is a mess. There is a complete lack of structure, process, respect for salespeople, and training—fundamental elements that any successful organization should prioritize. If you work at Zip, be content with your base salary, because earning actual commission will likely never happen. Leadership consistently finds creative ways to deduct from your commission and refuses to implement a fair and functional commission plan. Most employees work with the expectation of fair compensation for their deals, only to have that opportunity taken away in true Zip fashion—by terminating employees before they can receive their earned commissions.
Zip also has a toxic and unsustainable work environment. Until leadership addresses the root causes of its failures, the company will remain stagnant. Firing teams year after year isn’t a solution—true accountability needs to start higher up the ladder.
