Current Employee This company has been full of bait and switch. We were heavily recruited over from F500 employers as top performers. And since joining we have been at the mercy of a belligerently impatient CEO. Horrific culture and outrageous expectations. Most recent issue was the removal of unlimited PTO—which was bungled as a policy roll out. This has been a big issue for current employees because it was HEAVILY marketed as a benefit, and hiring managers didn’t care about planned vacations. As of 12/9, unlimited PTO was cancelled via Slack. As you imagine this caused open revolt. This place is the epitome of toxic startup nonsense. AVOID

Thank you for your review. We received valuable feedback from employees prior to fully rolling out this policy change. We ultimately did not remove our unlimited PTO policy for 1+ year employees, and we continue to operate under a responsible unlimited PTO policy for 1+ year employees. For those in their first year, our policy allows for 15 days.
For reference, the average employee at Cherry takes about 15 PTO days per year, and a typical range is between 10-20 PTO days/year. While we believe this PTO policy is reasonable and generous, we don't believe this policy should be the primary reason to join us here at Cherry!
