What happened to 1P? It use to be a great place to work at. Now I'm reading reviews tha the company is going downhill from new leadership?

merged the AE & AM role.  no resources or enablement done. Focus switched to outbound & no sales tools to do it. Massive favouritism. Inbound leads go to the same people every time. Increase in quotas monthly. Lots of pressure/burnout. People do shady stuff to stay ahead w no consequences

1Password is not 1Password anymore, in fact, they are selling every product except 1Password. The leadership is the worst I've ever seen, there is no support at all from management, there is favouritism happening for certain reps and others are left to fend for themselves, there is no promotional opportunities, about 80% of AE's actually hit quota.. you'll just be getting base pay month after month no matter how hard you work, and your only chance of hitting quota is from luck and having a big deal come in inbound. I'd avoid this company if you want to make money and want to actually grow in your career. It's hands down the most toxic place I've worked.

Adding : If you don’t hit 100% of your quota every month, you basically don’t make any money or commission. The team is really struggling and instead of taking ownership the leadership team says just keep pushing.

Company is doing fine overall, the problem is in GTM. They WAY over hired without ever adjusting quotas, or having products that customers wants in Mid-Market or Enterprise. The reality hit that nobody in these segments care about XAM, except SMB. The consequences are that nobody is making money in these segments, so the reps start to leave for greener pastures. There are many basic things that 1P could have done to avoid this, and they are all indicated in the reviews. RepVue is a barometer of GTM health, not about the overall company.....

I worked there before their Series A and after as an AE. Prior to their Series A the GTM team was less than ten reps. No quotas, no commission, and strictly inbound. Many will find this hard to believe, but there was no sales process. No qualification, nothing. It was mainly giving demos and acting as a customer support rep handling support inquiries. The job was incredibly easy to do and low pressure. When they raised their Series A and started building the GTM team around October of 2020 they overhired and tried to make huge changes to tooling. This left things in shambles. We also had incredibly high and unattainable targets, which seems to be the case even today.

The reason many left is because of a high degree of nepotism and poor management, which many have mentioned in their reviews.

Expanding the products they offered has only made things substantially worse.

I think the company is trying to make some big moves and carve a new path. When you do that, it can be a hard adjustment.
