What is the sales management culture like at CDW?

In the truest sense of this phrase, "it depends on the person." You will likely change managers quite a bit when you start, between who runs your training, who manages you in the academy, who manages you in the residency program, and who manages the sales people for your vertical and territory. Generally your trainer is going to be the biggest advocate for you to learn the ropes, academy managers are 99% of the time recently promoted reps on the micro-managey side but still easy enough to get along with (when I was in the academy I had 4 different ones come through like that), residency is more experienced managers who help you map out your path and collaborate with your territory manager so I saw the most stark differences in management styles there, and your territory manager is who you interview with and you'll eventually report directly to, I had a fantastic one, most are pretty laid back if you're producing.

The worst sales management at CDW is the director level and above - again it will vary but I generally found directors/VP/etc to be very out of touch, rarely interact with the reps or vendor reps, and have condescending attitudes in presentations, very much wanting people to know they are "in charge" vs effectively leading.

At the end of the day if you're hitting your quota and/or activity metrics you won't really have that bad of a time with any of the above.
