What is the plan with Certinia? Is Salesforce going to buy it? Will it IPO? Some other acquisition?

The Certinia name change supposedly represents a refocusing of the core offering, moving away from ERP and funneling energy toward PS Cloud. I don't agree that SFDC is taking back anything in-house at this point, given that Certinia just switched PE firms and SF remained an investor. They make too much money off the licensing from Certinia without having to do much of anything. They even recently re-upped their agreement and use Certinia PS Cloud in their own business. I'm sure the conversation happened regarding SF acquiring Certinia, but that wasn't in the cards yet apparently. To the point made on CS playbooks, the idea is to bring everything on-platform within one system. To me it's sensible. Go off-platform to Gainsight or some other app, or stay right here and have (someday) similar functionality? The point about trying to avoid being a one-trick pony is probably accurate.

The gap that FF filled in the SFDC stack is slowly being taken back in-house by SFDC, leaving FF with a shrinking target. Maybe the name change is a subtle diss to SFDC and also potentially a pivot to try and be more than a one-trick pony, like their new foray into Customer Success playbooks (which seems to be a very crowded market??).
