Former Employee Confluent has strong brand recognition for our leadership in managed Kafka, but the company continues to struggle with product-market fit and customer expansion on its path to being the DSP. Many products go GA before they’re truly ready, leading to adoption challenges and limited customer confidence.
The customer success and renewals culture has become transactional, with limited emphasis on long-term value realization. As a result, Confluent often functions more as infrastructure middleware than a differentiated data platform driving strategic outcomes for customers.
Across the GTM and leadership teams, morale and direction have declined. Vision and alignment are lacking, and execution feels reactive rather than inspired.
