Current Employee Gartner is a great place to learn and grow for people right out of college and if you are okay with being paid below market and dealing with change all the time. HT MICRO IS HORRIBLE for AE’s (probably the hardest job at Gartner) It truly is a territory , time and talent thing. There are reps crushing quota cause they got dealt a great hand with their accounts and others who are amazing but struggling because their accounts aren’t great. A lot of people drink the “Gartner Kool-Aid” and are so stressed but smile and act like nothing is going on. Can be kind of cultish in a way and immature depending on the business unit you go into.
It can be draining to your mental and emotional health if you don’t come in with thick skin and knowing what you want to achieve. There is alot of opportunities to grow internal but most of the time it means going to different departments or just networking like crazy.
Glad I am getting to experience it but with AI, stock, vendors sentiment against Gartner, the uncontrollables of the role, don’t know how long I will be staying
