Not sure when it all went so wrong. My org was eliminated in August 2024 due to a company restructuring. I was moved to a different org that I did not love so I left. Lo and behold they announced yesterday they are eliminating multiple other orgs and roles at MongoDB, most of which becoming redundant aka those people are not moving to different teams, they are laid off. MongoDB still will not call these layoffs. Mass exodus of great leadership over the past 2 years should’ve been the writing on the wall. Constant C-level exits over the past 2 years. Now that I am at an A+ player in the data space and my worldview is so much bigger, it’s obvious that MongoDB is quickly falling behind. They invested everything into Vector search which is now table stakes. IMO they need a total overhaul of sales leadership. Was a great company and I learned so much early on but it’s quickly falling sideways.

Acquisition org in the US is one of the biggest shit shows I’ve been a part of. Small percent of people crushing number, most struggling just to find opps, no middle ground. Crazy turn over of reps and recently leadership is leaving as well.

Overall it is a great company, genuinely want each rep to overachieve there numbers. Make no mistake though this is full desk sales, go into it eyes wide open that you will have some connections to existing accounts but you will be in charge of hunting net new.
