Former Employee MuleSoft remains a respected API led integration platform with strong engineering and a mature product. It still benefits from being part of the larger Salesforce engine, which provides strong brand recognition, access to an established ecosystem, and additional career visibility inside the organization.
That said, MuleSoft is steadily losing ground to modern iPaaS vendors such as Boomi and Workato, especially in mid market and enterprise automation use cases where speed, usability, and flexibility matter.
The sales environment often feels high pressure and at times borderline toxic. There is heavy inspection, inconsistent expectations from leadership, and a tendency to prioritize activity metrics over strategic selling. Territory design and resource allocation remain persistent challenges. Coverage is not always equitable, which can leave some reps carrying significantly heavier lifts while others inherit more favorable accounts.
For sellers evaluating the opportunity, the product depth and the broader Salesforce advantages are meaningful. At the same time, candidates should be prepared for uneven territory assignment and a culture that leans more toward an old school grind than a modern supportive sales organization.
