Question

I see all the reviews of AEs not hitting quota and referring to just 1 or 2 reps hitting quota in 2024. If the product market fit is there, what makes it impossible to hit quota? is it the ARR that just keeps increasing or lead gen? Just trying to make sense of how 1 or 2 reps hit quota.

Quotas literally doubled from one year to the next and most reps already weren’t hitting quota.  This makes the ability to make the number almost impossible, unless you are one of the 1 or 2 people that close a large deal. There are fewer and fewer of these.

they have product market fit with their cameras. Their telematics solution is garbage and they have been trying to develop it for over 2 years. CRO is the type of guy who sells like a car salesman. Maybe even worse. Just shove down their throat and no understanding of what the system actually does and solves for. Would promise the world and book deals - report to the entire sales team deals were closed. He thought he could manipulate the entire org. and would report the company being over 100%. Then the sales team would look around and see one or maaaaaybe two people hitting there number. You could easily assume the internal sales # was much higher than what was reported to the board.  Everything is treated this way. SR VP and CRO think they can manipulate everyone but they are so in their own world, they don't realize a brand new rep with no experience can figure out the lies and tactics in one week.

They increase quota year of year. The CRO and his is crony that leads the Enterprise team are the most toxic people you will ever meet. Territories are to small and there is no lead generation.

The answer below pretty much sums it up perfectly.  Leadership’s answer was to throw more headcount at the problem but didnt reduce quotas.  So now there are fewer accounts per rep and they kept quotas the same.
