Current Employee Success (lately) has been heavily reliant on your customer-base. Several customers were gouged by former AM's (who then opted to let go of the customer from their patch). So they're overinflated on footprint/spend, refuse to entertain any productive dialogue, and push hard to significantly downsell on renewals.
The recent rule-changes have mitigated some of these "gouging" practices, which is good...but the targets have still gone up.
