Earning potential is great, but you are working three jobs in one as an outside sales rep at Paycom. You are your own SDR and systems engineer in addition to sales. In 2024, quota was 960K, which means you make over 500K as an exec reps. This is not an easy role by any means. It was actually maybe the hardest thing I've ever done - I did it for 5 years. You wont survive unless Paycom becomes your whole life and you sell your soul to it.

Paycom is one of the most toxic organizations in the entire world. There is about a 90% turnover for AE's within the first year. They use new AE's basically as BDR's to source pipeline for tenured AE's who take all their pipeline after they get fired. My overall experience was good. Definitely the hardest jon I’ve ever taken in my life. Mentally and emotionally draining but I feel like I’ve developed my skills a ton and am proud of the work I put in.
