Former Employee Pendo has a really great culture—the parties/events, the swag, the office perks. It’s why you’ve seen such tenure there. But many of the long timers have left, IMO largely in part to the fact that it’s a rinse and repeat of the same problems over and over again. Setting growth numbers too high to be successful, trying to make enterprise work, trying to make international work, trying to turn SMB sales into a PLG motion—things that continue to fail. At a certain point Pendo just needs to accept that they are a mid market B2B solution, and stop burning cash on these expensive enterprise sellers. Enterprise is a 2 year revolving door, as is EMEA. If you want to be successful here, your best bet is on the Commercial team.
As a joining leader, your best bet is if you’re good at politics and can get in the in-crowd.
Note, when I left, the culture had also shifted to one of extreme micromanagement of data and Salesforce hygiene. The existing CRO put in place some good top down structure and programs, but he is a bit toxic and self-important. And still hasn’t solved those same problems. Browse Other Reviews
