What is high growth within SAP? Is that mid-market?

I’m being considered for sales academy to graduate into a high growth generalist AE but its a pay cut from my current role at an HR tech startup. I want to have a big name like SAP on my resume. Is it worth taking the leap?

SAP AE - sold into HG & MM made $400-420k back to back years.  Earning potential at SAP is high.

SAP has Large Enterprise, High Growth, and Midmarket Segments.

•Midmarket: Midmarket companies are medium-sized businesses with annual revenues ranging from approximately $50 million to $1 billion. They typically have fewer employees than large enterprises and seek solutions that balance functionality with cost-effectiveness.

High growth is net new and dormant accounts. The high growth teams at SAP are collaborative and supportive - IAE roles are probably better than an LOB role because you’ll have higher chances of hitting quota. Regardless, it’s a good opportunity to get your foot in the door at the company.

As a sales academy graduate from 5 years ago, who has since been in other SaaS companies for 3 years, I can definitely say it has opened many doors for me because many SaaS vendors out there look at your SAP background and are interested in hiring you (it might also help to broaden your "portfolio" from HR focus to exposing you to "all" IT functions which I know is also an attention point for many recruiters). I also found the academy helpful in honing my skills.
A generalist AE role is the best in my opinion (better than solutions sales which I initially graduated into). 
I can only speak for the EMEA region, but your salary will increase relatively soon after completion of the academy and overall SAP is transparent and fair in terms of salary progression. But in terms of career growth you might be better off at a start-up as you might climb the ranks faster, if that is what you want. 
But I would definitely negotiate salary so they at least try to match your current one.
I can't say anything regarding the "high growth" part (probably came after my tenure there).

Yes it’s! You will find mid-market and enterprise customer to deal with, and its more than a ERP, you have a whole suite of Financial products

Yes, the SAP sales Academy is a great program that will train you in sales for both short and long term. In addition the network you will gain during your time at SAP will pay you back 10x. You will also be given the opportunity to be in sales for one of the best sales companies in the world.

High growth is a combo of midmarket and LE accounts, it will be mainly hunting net new business. It’s a good role to have, if you get a big erp deal you can make a lot of money
