SPS Commerce has great culture and the people make it a fun place to work. As the years went on, they asked us to continue to sell more with less and made it challenging for sales to increase their earnings and hit quota. The base salary is also very low compared to other similar jobs in the industry. The restructure of the sales team hurt their most tenured sales reps and they did seem to reward loyalty. SPS is a great place to learn the foundation of sales. However they fall short when it comes earnings potential, equitable comp plans and rewarding employees who stayed loyal throughout many changes over the years.

Unfortunately, SPS will raise your quota to the extreme when you hit over 100% the previous year to avoid paying you out in accelerators. I hit over 150% in 2023, and they raised my quota by 258% for 2024 with the same OTE as 2023.

Great company to work at early in career. Lots of friendly faces, good experience, enablement and training is top notch. Comp for reps is below market value, they were once leaders in the marketplace with no real competition but the market has caught up to them and it seems they are struggling to maintain their lead. Plus supply chain is crazy uncertain right now.
