Former Employee Avoid. You're going to be excited about it at first.. but you won't be for long after joining. The company itself seems very cool, but it's engineering focused and sales is second class. No alignment between product and rev, processes/ROE/targets change every quarter, new products are underdeveloped and no resources given to help enable sales, compensation is wildly different rep to rep, leadership doesn't understand strategic direction and will gaslight reps to thinking they do.
Most reps, managers and senior leaders are from Canada and don't have many other software options for career moves. So people there obsess about getting-in and staying-at Shopify, and willing to put up with the disrespect and chaos from product/rev-ops. There are so so many better places.. start ups operate with better efficiency, structure and cohesion. Oh, not to mention, they're on a mission to automate out most sales/customer-facing roles through AI.
After being there for 26 months, I can firmly say that I became worse at sales after selling for Shopify. Browse Other Reviews
