Avoid at all costs. While individual team members are talented, the leadership creates a toxic environment that makes this unsuitable for any career stage. Workplace Harassment: My current manager exhibits serious misconduct including verbal abuse, profanity toward employees, slamming fists on desks during meetings, screaming at team members, and threatening to remove opportunities or negatively impact schedules. This creates a hostile work environment. Poor Leadership: Sales leadership lacks strategic acumen and prioritizes annoying clients into submission over building relationships. The prospecting methods are ineffective, turning most interactions into uncomfortable account reviews. Compensation Issues: To reach OTE, you need 200% quota performance. Most reps fail to hit targets. Leadership constantly introduces new commission structures that reduce your earnings. Sales Support Problems: Sales engineers are unprofessional and arrogant with both reps and clients, damaging relationships during calls. Bottom Line: Despite consistently hitting my quota, I strongly recommend against SolarWinds for any role length. The workplace harassment alone is a major red flag, and combined with poor processes and compensation practices, this company presents serious risks to your career and well-being.
