Leading up to the Cisco acquisition, Splunk has been trending downward strongly since I was hired. Things were getting worse in every way and very few people hit quota. Those who did had ideal accounts and did not source those deals. Even sales directors have admitted to me in private that luck is the primary factor influencing quota attainment in commercial.

In Feb of '23 there was a reorg for Commercial (Midmarket). AEs were separated into either "growth" or "named" which were greenfield or existing accounts. The Growth teams were really struggling.
