This sales role is being overtaken by 3rd party shipping sites that can offer shippers competitive rates, integration and service. In my area there wasn’t a lot of opportunity unless they were lost to FedEx or USPS for a couple years and came back. Hitting plan isn’t terrible, but funding the pipeline can be difficult. The company needs a better process in dealing with 3rd party shipping sites.

I grew up at UPS and love the service, the local leadership and camaraderie. The historical compensation/benefits /retirement are great. Unfortunately, these are being eroded each and every year by corporate leadership. The corporate view of low/mid management has changed from "partners in the business" to headcount.
