Fast paced, competitive and you have to be really creative and basically lie to people. During my time there, I leaned a lot about what it takes to be successful in business, in telecom it means completely lying to people. There used to be phone promotions that were designed for new lines and it could be justified, but now you just lie to people. If you are 23 and impressionable you’ll do great Just lie and slam people with services they didn’t ask for. This is actually constructive and the reality of the business.

worked there 27 years, culture varied between extremely toxic & tolerable, but stayed for salary. Would not recommend now as they are laying off 80% of sales force & they are focused on paying all employees as little as possible, actively attempting to replace sales force with web portals & AI.

This job used to be a solid option. You used to be able to sell to a mix of existing and new mid-market customers to achieve targets. In 2023 they took those accounts away and primarily focus on non-billing SMB customers. During this time Micromanagement was ramaped up to unbearable levels. Avoid AT&T Business Sales at all cost.
