They offer plenty of opportunities for growth, the best and smartest minds join AWS and help do what's best for the customers. You need to be good at influencing upwards when going for promotions but that is the same as other large organizations.

Current Employee3.4Feb 29, 2024Amazon is a bit cult like with their leadership principles and can be very bureaucratic, but if you land on a good team with leaders that you work well with and trust then it can be a good place. On the other hand, if your manager does not like you then your days are numbered regardless how well you are doing in your role.
