Dell does a great job of developing you, but if you want to go to a high interest area in the field after 2-3 years on the inside (Essentially anywhere but Nebraska or the Dakotas) you will have a very hard time beating out VP's children. Then when you finally do get the role in your preferred location and sign an offer letter, they rescind that offer letter 2 weeks before you were scheduled to start without any kind of plan to remediate the situation.

I had a terrific time at Dell up until the last year. The decisions being made are not in the best interest of the sales people and are destroying what made this place great. They talk about record growth every quarter but layoff employees every 6 months. Quotas are 60% higher than 3 year average plus aggressive growth target.
