What does the onboarding and training process entail at Fastly for new sales team members? Did you feel adequately prepared to succeed in your role?

As people have already said, the onboarding is mostly videos that are 2-3 years old.  They don't teach you how to make an actual quote and the process is very convoluted.  There is little preparation for the role as there is little incentive for anybody to actually buy a Fastly product unless they just hate their current vendor.

The response below isn't wrong but there's also a week-long orientation process where you learn many of the basics around the technology platform.  From there internal training videos are used to ramp.  Most of your "training" will be self-paced, solo sessions but if a concept is new or something doesn't make sense you should reach out to someone because just about everyone is willing to help.

It’s not good. It’s a highly technical product that the company itself struggles to sell let alone teaching its sales rep how to do it.

Your experience with onboarding will be influenced upon your incoming knowledge (e.g. industry, product, sales processes, etc...). If you are proactive and take meaningful steps to educate yourself about Fastly's products, competitors, messaging, points of differentiation BEFORE you start, you'll find the onboarding helpful. If however, you expect to be spoon fed everything you'll be disappointed.  Remember that Fastly has recently experienced several changes in Revenue leadership. Expect process and onboarding changes with new management.

From my understanding they are working on revamping it but from my experience there was little to no training. They have you watch a few old sales videos and then tell you good luck. One of the worst onboarding experiences I have had.

It's not terrible but leaves a lot to be desired. The material is outdated. They often have multiple different departments onboard together, so they don't really focus on sales processes, which is super important.

The enablement team is relatively good and can provide you with an understanding of the offering. The issue is that their GTM strategy and actual execution of that strategy is a car wreck and you will have little chance of succeeding.  The leadership of this org is simply lost.
