How is LE GBS AE role for the marketing or finance vertical? Interviewing for a role that would manage 6-10 accounts with a 800k quota plus additional growth quota

Run!  Look at Gartner stock!  They have an innovation, product and leadership problem, that can no longer be compensated by an elite sales force. The world has changed and Gartner did not innovate their capabilities. Selling research to CMOs and CFOs is a smoke and mirrors game.

Gartner is a sinking ship. There are dozens upon dozens of people across sales that were at winner Circle last year and currently on HR plans or being exited out of the business. I would proceed with caution.

Nobody is buying advisory any more now that Gen Ai has caught up and budgets are being slashed. Go sell software or something else that actually delivers real tangible value to clients.

I’m a finance AE LE. It’s definitely tough for the roughly 50 of us. But I wouldn’t go as far as some of the commenters making it sound completely dire. I’d say about 20% are hitting quota across ‘23 and ‘24. Still 3 months left this year, but I’d be surprised if ‘25 finishes any better

I’m in HR in GBS. Finance seems to be popping off (as much as any vertical is in this economy) and im not as familiar with marketing. Quotas are super attainable here - basically retain your book + grow 15% or so. It’s definitely feasible.

I agree with the other commenter! I’m in GBS for HR as well and finance is a great place to be. We have so much research around how to adapt to the AI world that it’s a great time to sell. Also, that quota sounds very attainable on the LE side of things. I love this company and would recommend it.
