Is it possible to negotiate my starting salary as an AE at Gartner ? or is it too rigid ?

100% you can, and you should. I was able to get my salary up quite high through negotiations.

It is possible, as a matter of fact, I have done it successfully twice. Here is how it usually works: They have salary brackets  - for example, a junior AE might be offered the Account Manager Job title with a starting salary of 35k with a 50k OTE.  10 years ago, that bracket was from 32 to 38k, the same process was followed for all other positions from AE to Senior AE to Business Development Director. They have minimal space to move but you can get between 5 or 8k more.

For AEs based out of Barcelona, it wasn't possible to negotiate at all. Can't comment about other regions though.

In the U.S., you can absolutely negotiate your salary by negotiating your total compensation.

In fact, each position has a total compensation range based upon the region/state it’s in.

Yes , they say that they would not negotiate but after speaking to my colleagues at the academy and in office I realised that they had negotiated the salary for many of them .

Yes, they have bands
If you aren’t in the AE band, they can bring you in as a senior and pay you more
But you need the experience 
For example, I was in ae band, they upped me to senior and thus were able to pay me a 150k base and 100k TI - total 250k OTE
Versus I think like 200k?

Yes, minimum they'll likely give you a signing bonus.   But most roles(field at least) they have built in buffers--for example they'll almost never offer you more than the midpoint for that role--which means 50% of folks in that exact role have a higher OTE.  In my experience, they'll throw out another 5-10k offer on OTE virtually 100% of the time--though the job market has tightened up dramatically lately and they might not need to any more.
