Current Employee I was excited to join HubSpot- despite many negative reviews I decided to take a chance. Now, 8 months in, I completely understand the criticisms. HubSpot’s Small Biz segment has shifted into a churn-and-burn sales organization, sacrificing its once stellar culture. Employees are quickly fired if performance falls, and the quotas are outrageous – only about 30% of 300 reps meet their targets, creating a massive gap between high performers and the rest. Rumors of cheating/loopholes circulate.
While leadership hints at change and expresses hope, the reality is grim: a single bad month, or worse, two, triggers relentless micromanagement and pressure from managers. One month you’re celebrated as a hero; the next, you’re under severe pressure. Despite following solid processes, performance remains wildly inconsistent, reflecting systemic issues with market saturation and insufficient business leads – it truly feels like 300 people fishing in a 10x10 pond.
I expected growth and long-term stability, but now I’m questioning my future here. If you’re considering a position in SMB at HubSpot, be prepared for immense pressure, stress, and micromanagement. Others in different segments might fare better. Overall, my experience has been disheartening, leaving me uncertain. Browse Other Reviews
