Pros: above avg pay, can be pretty laid back, good flexibility of schedule Cons: bureaucracy is insane, virtually zero innovation, hard to make high end money, politics over productivity, constantly layoffs and shifting strategy

IBM covers a very wide range of software solutions, primarily positioned in the middle of the pack compared to its competitors, rarely positioned as a top choice for customers. People have been incredible. They want to support new hires. They want to build a culture they can be proud of. This is a large/wide industry so overlap in departments is an important way to win. Some product lines are more competitive than others, but in the right area you can find great success.
