If you are considering joining the redhat team, think twice more especially the AE role. Absurd daily KPIs, call metrics etc. Which comes with excessive handholding from sales managers on weekly kpis- opps opened, partner meetings booked.. so a lot of micromanagemnet. The "AE" role is a glorified BDR/SDR role with a lot of outbound calling not to mention very low base for a "AE" role. There seems to be excessive churn on the floor more especially forcing all Dallas folks back in the office, just to then force their hand to relocate to Austin. There's also a massive rift between IBM redhat reps and proper redhat members. RedHat reps make higher comp and work full remote while IBM is full RTO. Also, you are not paid commission until the following quarter, so be prepared to live off your base salary for 3 months.. I do not recommend AE role to seasoned experienced reps given there are a lot of junior reps in those roles on the floor. If you have other options, highly recommend pursuing those. If you don't like being micromanaged then seriously don't consider working for the leadership of Redhat, you will regret it.
