Everything is amazing but nobody is happy. Spend some time at Microsoft and you'll realize it's an org. that is built to maintain senior leadership's stock value. Almost all managers I dealt with were just paranoid about protecting their equity.

Lateral moves make that making a jump in pay is super hard. Not the best work environment because of (senior) management. Also the way you have to do your review feels like they are just locking in information to use later on, and not to your advantage…

Great company and exciting times with all that's being done in AI but also confusing times. I think culturally senior leadership is strong and has the correct values but as you move down the line not enough leaders embrace and live those values.
