Former Employee Stay away, especially at this point with the Paychex acquisition.
Pros: You’ll be forced to learn a lot quickly and manage every part of the sales process. Especially if you’re early career, HCM will force you to grow.
Cons: HCM overall is hyper-competitive and not differentiated. End of the day, the prospects can go with a competitor and get the same result as with Paycor, but you’re force fed an idea that Paycor’s tech is leaps and bounds ahead of the market
Culture is awful. Micromanagement beyond the pale from most leaders.
Job is real grind for a very average sales income.
Rep Churn is very high. Most don’t last 6 months.
Biggest thing I couldn’t stand was the lack of innovation. Out of one side of their mouth, leadership would say they supported reps trying new things and strategies, but 50%+ of most of my weeks was spent working on deal desk items or logging metrics to make someone happy, not win or generate pipeline.
