Overall PayPal is a great place to work but when it comes to SMB/Midmarket AE roles they lag behind in comparison to the average base plus comp pay. This makes it extremely difficult of you miss goal for one month because the base pay is so low.

It takes a long time to learn the product and processes to set your self up for success. Each sales team is compensated slightly differently. And our team had a low % of reps hit quote last year, only to have this year exceed that number a lot, and now we are hearing how targets are changing for 2024 and some sales will not be weighted as heavily.

Overall a great company with a good Brand. Benefits are great but base pay is very minimal and commission structure changes often. Took 6 months for them to figure out 2024 comp plan which meant sales people were solely living on the low base pay.

Toxic work environment, low pay, no alignment between company goals and sales compensation plan, over saturated market, lack of communication and support, rigid segmentation leaving many valuable opportunities on the table with no one working them, poor quality of opportunities, increased relentless pressure on KPIs and filling out activity tracking spreadsheets.
