The company has solid/valuable offerings for its customers. The compensation plan is continuing to degrade. IBM is slowly but surely making life for sellers worse at Red Hat. Many senior execs came from IBM, and Red Hat continues to hire execs from IBM. Morale is decreasing in the sales org, but it’s still not a bad place to be. It seems like the org is moving to the “managed earnings” model that IBM has successfully implemented at the parent company.

A lot of the business is related to renewals. The solution is very technical and it takes 6 to 9 months to ramp up
