Benioff loves a good boomerang and sometimes that is the best and only way to move up in this org. Don't fall for the Salesforce Kool-Aid. Starting as a BDR and moving into an AE role, I believe my base salary was probably lower than market rate. However the commissions were good and seemed achievable at the time.
