Current Employee Shopify has an amazing product and great inbound flow. Unfortunately, the Sales Org is too unorganized and not transparent. They say they move fast and expect a lot of change but really it’s more lack of organization than anything. New ROE rules every month where even the head of sales is confused. Very cut throat culture where you can hit every quarter and then as soon as you miss, you’re gone. Turnover is very high. The joke is, “if you’ve been at Shopify longer than 6 months, you’ve been here for eternity.” Never seen an org be so reliant on inbound where your success is dependent on what comes through on inbound. No sales skills required. You’ll feel like a glorified BDR or Support rep. Outbound is based off your book of business which is enriched with non updated contact info (they don’t give you access to Zoominfo) so 60% of your book has wrong contact info and have already blasted by previous reps.
