The Mid-Market segment scaled waaaay too quickly. They went from 8 to 30 reps last Q4/Q1 and it's been chaos for them trying to figure out segmentation and quota. We just had our second quarter in a row were not even 20% of the segment hit quota. To make it even worse, nearly everyone was put on performance plans. The people are cool, the product is great, the future is bright for Shopify. But man do they have some work to do in the sales org. It's the wild west out here.

Leadership is great. Huge respect for Tobi Lutke! Brilliant man. Unfortunately a lot get lost in the "translation" when it comes to vision, goals, culture in the transition from Leadership to middle-management.

Still many product challenges upmarket; aggressive quotas that don't align to the opportunity within territory. Amazing, intelligent people that you work with, but it's increasingly hard to be successful.
