Shopify has strong PMF but underpays compared to a lot of big tech. Quotas are also becoming harder to hit and there is high turnover as a result. They are constantly hiring but also firing underperforming reps.

The people they hire are great but I feel like some of the leaders aren't meant to be leaders. It's pretty chaotic and leaders don't know how to organize it. The reps have made suggestions but they ignore it.

The pay structure is getting worse. Instead of rewarding us on commission they have come up with a bs mastery sliding window system, where you get stack ranked. Horrible place

The Mid-Market segment scaled waaaay too quickly. They went from 8 to 30 reps last Q4/Q1 and it's been chaos for them trying to figure out segmentation and quota. We just had our second quarter in a row were not even 20% of the segment hit quota. To make it even worse, nearly everyone was put on performance plans.
